Bridge: Songwriting Notebook — Privacy Policy

Effective August 2026

Bridge is built so that your songs are nobody’s business but yours.

What we collect

Nothing. Bridge has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. We do not collect, transmit, or have access to any information about you or your use of the app.

Your recordings and lyrics

  • The microphone is used for exactly one thing: recording your own voice memos, and only when you start a recording. (The tuner also listens through the microphone while it is open, and processes what it hears entirely on your device — nothing is recorded.)
  • The camera is used for exactly one thing: filming your own video ideas, and only when you start filming.
  • Your recordings, videos, lyrics, ideas, and songs are stored on your device.
  • Bridge transcribes your voice memos and filmed clips using Apple’s speech recognition, entirely on your device, for one thing: giving them a title made of your own words, which is what search then finds. The transcript is not kept — only that title — and nothing is ever sent to a speech server. The title stays fully editable.
  • If you are signed into iCloud, Bridge syncs your data to your own private iCloud database so it appears on your other devices. This data is tied to your Apple Account, hosted by Apple, and technically inaccessible to the developer — we could not read your songs even if we wanted to.
  • No third-party services receive any of your data.

Purchases

Bridge Pro is purchased through Apple. Apple processes the payment; Bridge never sees your payment details, and learns exactly one thing — whether Bridge Pro is unlocked on this device. Everything you make in Bridge stays readable, playable, and exportable whether you subscribe, let a subscription lapse, or never pay at all.

Deleting your data

Deleting a song or recording in the app moves it to Recently Deleted, where it stays on your device and in your iCloud database for 30 days so you can restore it; after 30 days (or if you delete it from Recently Deleted yourself) it is removed permanently from both. Deleting the app removes all local data; iCloud data can be removed in iOS Settings → Apple Account → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → Bridge.

Children

Bridge collects no personal information from anyone — including children under 13. Because nothing is collected, there is nothing to consent to, review, or delete.

This policy will only ever change to describe new user-facing features (like optional sharing). It will never change to permit data collection without a new, explicit choice made by you.
